USask Plant Phenotyping and Imaging Research Centre

Ian Stavness is an Associate Professor in Computer Science at the University of Saskatchewan. His research involves modeling, biomedical computation, biomechanics, and computer graphics. On the Digital Phenotyping project of P2IRC, Prof. Stavness is active in extracting digital signatures from image data (e.g., from images taken with autonomous drones) and in modeling plant structures at the cellular level. He is also actively involved in the OpenSim and Parametric Human projects, developing state-of-the-art human body simulations.
