Przemyslaw Prusinkiewicz, FRSC, is a Professor of Computer Science at the University of Calgary, and head of the Biological Modelling and Visualization Research Group. Prof. Prusinkiewicz applies notions and methods of computer science to gain a better understanding of the emergence of forms and patterns in nature, with a focus on modeling, simulation and visualization of the development of plants. Prof. Prusinkiewicz is the recipient of the 1997 ACM SIGGRAPH Computer Graphics Achievement Award and the 2009 Achievement Award from the Canadian Human Computer Communications Society.
